a pilot project of the ZIFET of the University Koblenz-Landau, fundet by the BMWi.

#mission

In the terms of the formation of a continental bridge it is the mission of StArfrica - Startup Germany-Africa to increase the attractiveness of Germany - especially as a country of business start-ups from the scientific community - for African start-ups and to sensitize and facilitate the market entry of German start-ups in Africa, but if necessary also for the market entry of small and medium-sized companies in Africa. This will be implemented on a pilot basis with Rwanda and especially with the University of Rwanda in Kigali as a cooperation partner of ZIFET.

#objectives

The objective of the bridgehead in Rwanda is to promote business start-ups from the field of science together with the University of Rwanda (Incubation) and especially to sensitize, motivate, advise and support (Attraction) for the possibility of founding a business in Germany, if necessary by means of an EXIST-founder's-scholarship.
The objective of the bridgehead in Germany is to sensitize scientific start-ups in Germany for the potential market entry in Africa (Sensitization) and to provide relevant information and contacts (Arbritation).
The objective of the bridge between Germany and Rwanda is to contribute to a foundation-related business interaction of start-up teams (Exchange) between both countries with their respective start-up ecosystems, which also includes the economic relation (Connection) between start-ups from both countries as well as between small and medium-sized companies and start-ups.

Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Harald von Korflesch (founder and director of ZIFET and the School of Entrepreneurial Design Thinking® at the University of Koblenz-Landau), Dr. Kornelia van der Beek (managing director of ZIFET and the Start-up Office of the University of Koblenz - Landau) and MSc. Niklas Richter (StArfrica Project Manager) and Marlene Göbel (Project Assistant StArfrica) and our partners at the University of Rwanda, we are currently putting together a competent team with many years of experience in the field of international entrepreneurship in order to jointly achieve the objectives of the pilot project StArfrica - Startup Germany-Africa.
